Why I made this site
A quote can give you a monthly price in minutes. It takes longer to find out what the policy might actually pay for. I wanted a place where Great Dane owners could take that slower look at waiting periods, exclusions, reimbursement and the health questions that come with a giant breed.
This is an educational site, not a list of winners. If you're just getting started, the coverage guide explains the terms, and the comparison guide offers a way to read policies side by side.
Who writes it
I'm the owner of Best Dog Insurance LLC, which owns and publishes GreatDaneInsurance.com. I write these guides by reading insurance documents and checking veterinary and breed health sources for the medical context. Where a guide relies on a source, I link to it so you can read further and make up your own mind.
I'm not a veterinarian, a licensed insurance representative or an employee of the providers featured here. No veterinarian reviews or approves these guides. I can't tell you what a particular policy will cover for your dog. This site does not sell, issue or bind insurance policies.
